Heating pumps

Heating pumps are an environmentally friendly technology for heating and hot water and contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions, because they use free energy, extracted from the environment.

Function

Heating pump heating
Heating pump heating is basically comparable with any other heating technology, because it is comprised of a heat generator with the appropriate heat source and heat utilisation. The utilisation of heat means the distribution system - radiators, under-floor heating, etc. The heating pump can be operated using different types of heat sources.

Cooling
For the cooling process with heating pumps, the excess heat in the house is taken up through the under-floor/wall heating and emitted outside – depending on the system, to the ground water, the soil or the air. In comparison to conventional air-conditioning systems, there are many advantages: Heating pumps are cheaper to buy, the additional assembly effort of an air-conditioning system is not required and operating costs are saved through the lower electricity consumption. In addition to this, the cooling occurs without drafts or annoying noises. With heating pumps that return the energy from the soil and return the heat to it in the cooling process, another additional benefit is created. Through the cooling process, the earth storage is regenerated earlier; the heat is stored in the soil, so that in the following winter, more heat is available.

Renovation
Increased energy costs and environmental pollution from fine dust and CO2 of many old heating systems have led to a high demand for heating pumps. For renovations, heating pumps with outdoor air as a heating source are mainly installed, as the installation is quick and uncomplicated and there is no need for complex excavation or drilling. A particular advantage of the new generation of heating pumps are possible supply temperatures of up to 65° C, with which even old heating systems with radiators can be operated with the heating pump without any problem.
